Idea: Manual Feet Control in EA Sports FC
I think it would be much more realistic if players could manually choose whether to shoot with their left or right foot. Right now, the game decides automatically based on body position and weak foot rating, but sometimes that feels frustrating (for example, Messi taking a finesse shot with his right foot when you really want his iconic left-footed finesse).
Suggested Control Scheme:
- Square (□) → Shoot with left foot
- Circle (O) → Shoot with right foot
- Lob Pass (currently O) → could be reassigned to a combination (e.g. L1 + X), so that Square and Circle are free for foot control during shooting.
Optional Feature (ON/OFF Setting):
To make it accessible, add a setting:
- Feet Control: ON / OFF
- When OFF → shooting works like it does now (automatic foot selection).
- When ON → players can manually choose left or right foot.
Why this matters:
- Adds realism – in real football, players can decide to use their strong or weak foot depending on the situation.
- Adds a new skill gap – players must judge: “From this angle, should I shoot with my left or right?”
- Makes the boot icon useful – FC 26 already shows a boot icon indicating foot strength. With manual foot control, that information becomes tactically relevant instead of just visual.
- More variety in finishing – players could choose a quick weak-foot shot to surprise the keeper, or force a finesse with their strong foot for accuracy.
