I'm confused about Club Transfers in Customisation

Like, for example I've just attempted to put Harry Kane on my club because I want to play with him but he's assigned to Bayern Munich XI and whenever I put him on my club he still appears in the Bayern Munich squad but assigned to my club, I'm honestly just really confused why this is the case.
