Matchday Lineup Resets When Bench Players Are Insufficient

I am playing Manager Career Mode. My squad has 39 players, and 20 of them are currently out on loan at different clubs. I have 19 active players available, consisting of 11 starters and 8 substitutes.

When match day arrives and I reach the pre-match screen shown in the photo I added, I press the “D” button and use the “Team Management” section to swap tired players with some of the substitutes. Then, when I press the “Play Match” button to proceed, the game tells me: “You don’t have enough players to fill your bench for the next match. You will start the match with fewer players on the bench.”

So far, that’s all normal…

However, after I press “OK” and enter the match, all the changes I made in the “Team Management” menu using the “D” button are reset, and I end up starting the match with the “Default Squad” that I set in the main “Squad” menu of Manager Mode.

When I have enough available players, there is no issue: any lineup changes I make in the pre-match “Team Management” menu are applied correctly. The problem only occurs when I do not have enough substitute players, and this needs to be fixed.
