Please buff standing tackles

So here goes:

EA needs to slightly buff the standing tackle. Let me explain, since left stick and (or) R1 dribbling is so OP and lets players move so unnaturally and change directions so quick, it is difficult to keep up as defender. Say I am L1+R1 jockeying as an active defender and the attacker slightly cuts to my right. My instinct is hold O to tackle as he's taken a slight touch away, so my intention is for my defender to stretch his left leg out to the side to tackle the ball. Instead, everytime the defender just performs a standing tackle with his right foot straight into nothing (when the player is lateral to me). The animation locks you in and it's a free goal for the opponent. 

Not sure if this makes sense, but I can't be the only one who's noticed this. Please EA, make standing tackles a little more intelligent.
