Removing evo on players bug

I started an evo on a player I wanted but realized I had placed the wrong evo (attacker round out) instead. So I decided to use the remove evo function which at the time I thought would be handy for fixing my mistake, however after removing the evo I was unable to put that same evo on anyone else. It was a repeatable evo so I decided to use it on another player but whenever I attempt to start the evo on someone else I get the "There was a problem connecting to Football Ultimate Team servers" prompt and get kicked out of the evolutions page. Is there a solid fix for similar situations because I tried restarting the game and my console but reached the same result.
