I was awarded as the best Premier League player, got the Golden Boot. I got the Most assistances in Premier League and Carabao cup. Every month I was awarded as the best player, yet I did not get called to Portugal nacional team once, and I missed the world cup.
I got one even worse for you. I was called up in March after one training session. I was the starter for both games got player of the match in both games and then didn't get called up just a few short months later for the World Cup.... yay yay every game you make is Garbage when it comes to all of these glitches... and just one other piece of advice when playing the computer if you make the user computer team controled players play the same as the computer team players your games would be 1 million times better across all of your platforms and titles... we only buy your sports games because you have the market corner. Congratulations.
Last time I checked, national team selection is based entirely on Player Overall rating. If you're not the highest in that position there's a chance you won't ever get selected for the big competitions. You'll get selected for friendless only when you're in good form.
If that's not the case then it's definitely a bug and something EA needs to look into.
