Cannot link Xbox profile with EA Sports FC 26 (error during linking)

this is **bleep**. 

can't play the game because the controller settings just won't stay, as I CANT LINK THE PROFILE.

THIS IS A 70 DOLLAR GAME, ACT LIKE IT, DAMMIT.
