Cross-play and cheaters — is there a solution in FC 26?

Hi, I wanted to ask how the issue of cheaters will be handled in FC 26.

FC 25 has always been full of cheating PC players, and there's no effective way to report them in-game.

Because of this, cross-play—rather than being a useful feature that helps speed up matchmaking—has become a burden due to the cheaters.

How will this be solved? Or will cross-play be removed entirely because of this issue?

  • **"I agree with the concerns about cheaters, but removing PC cross-play entirely isn't the solution—it punishes legitimate PC players instead of fixing the root problem. Here's a better approach:**

    1️⃣ **Upgrade Anti-Cheat**
    - Implement kernel-level anti-cheat (like Riot's Vanguard) to stop hackers at the system level.
    - **Current reporting tools are useless** – we need in-game replay reviews and instant feedback when action is taken.

    2️⃣ **Keep Cross-Play OPTIONAL**
    - Let console players disable cross-play if they prefer (already exists but could be more visible).
    - **Isolating PC will:**
       - Destroy the FUT market (PC prices are already inflated).
       - Increase queue times, especially in smaller regions (like Turkey).
       - Prevent friends from playing together across platforms.

    3️⃣ **PC-Specific Fixes**
    - Hardware bans for cheaters + weekly ban wave transparency.
    - Prioritize fixing exploits like no-loss glitches **before** launch.

**Removing cross-play is a band-aid fix.** EA should invest in real solutions instead of splitting the community. #EAFC26"

You obviously don't know about cheats on consoles. Obviously, cheating on PC is a small percentage of players, and it's mainly people who make money from it, so your argument doesn't make any sense at all.

they better remove PC players from matchmaking... not only they cheat, their game is also more responsive than next gen console.

Turning crossplay off is not the solution. it takes a lot of time to find a decent game in Div 2 on XBOX SX.

EA just finds >35ms Ping players. I'm in US central time.

    Agree

  • Add an option to exclude only PC players in matchmaking.

if PC is allowed, allow us to see Console/PC icon in the matchmaking screen before the game starts so we can decide if the play or not.

The issue of being able to turn off cross platform is there's way round it. Happens on other games all the time. So that wouldn't work. PC players do bring more cheaters though. I get disconnected way more these days and I'm not even a good player lmao.

Across the gaming industry as a whole cheating is a massive problem. It's why there's so much speculation on who's making the cheats. People blame developers all the time.

Fixing the disconnection cheat would be the biggest win imo. But there's no real way around it. You get disconnected for them to be punished. You've already had your weekend league or tournament ruined. You can't give no loss to every disconnect because nobody will ever lose lmao.

Hardware ban would be great, but there's always a way round coding. It's just a sad reality we have grown adults that are that pathetic they need to win at a game at all costs. Kernel level anti-cheat isn't bulletproof in the slightest.

Console is dead with cronus. Speed and better ai defence. No wonder I find myself asking why my opponents defenders are better than mine when they aren't even using them. 😅🤣.

I completely agree with you. Cheating on PC has really ruined the cross-play experience

But instead of removing cross-play entirely I think the better solution is to limit it to PlayStation and Xbox only

That way, we can still enjoy faster matchmaking and a larger player base

while avoiding the cheating issues that are common on PC

Just make console lobbies and pc lobbies. It is not that hard.

Finally a serious answer under this post, i also agree with what you say about cronus, people only talk about PC but there are probably more people who cheat on consoles than on PC.
