I think you have forgotten the point of video games: to have fun. Before EA started FUT, we used to get together at a friend's house and play. It was fun to be the best player in my friend group. It was also fun to lose against my friends and immediately yell "rematch."
What EA has created here is anything but that. I'm not sure how ambitious you are when it comes to this game, but I gave up on a pro gaming career a long time ago. Now I just want to play for fun (mostly).
Yes, Division Rivals should be competitive. How is it competitive to match a casual player against a wannabe pros? It's putting up a novice boxer in a match against Mike Tyson. There is no competition. If what he said is true, EA should just get rid of DR all together because it's pointless.
Even worse is that this type of hyper-competitive attitude has spilled over into the live events. Look at the current TOTY Live Event 2. To complete it, you can either win 6 or score in 12 games. Is it fun to score 3-4 goals and then spends the rest of the time sweating for a clean sheet? Is it fun do to a bunch of useless skill moves and back passes to the GK? I'm sure the people doing are also not having fun.
In closing, I think the OP's expressing his frustration with this match making because it's affecting the rewards (as if there wasn't already enough of a power curve). The lower-skilled players, who are more likely to need them, are not getting them and are falling further behind.

I don't think you understood his point when you invest money into a game in hopes of making your team better, as that is the goal, and it doesn't matter because they will force your win rate to be 50%

If you are "investing" money into this game, you are wasting your time and money. Everything becomes worthless when the next game gets released.
This type of manipulation should not be allowed. It seems like EA are purposely throttling player's progression (probably part of the plan to sell more packs). In my experience, they missed the mark with the 50% win rate. My gameplay is definitely closer to 30%-40%. I'm currently in Division 5 and I keep getting stuck in the D6 relegation/promotion battle (no progression).
In FUT Champs, it definitely feels like there is manipulation going on. I started this morning with a 4W/5L record. All of the sudden, I lose 3 in a row. These game were outrageous. My team kept conceding the worst goals. I poked the ball away from Pina with my CB. I collect the loose ball and press "X" to pass to my CDM. Nothing happens and Pina steals the ball back and scores. I couldn't score until I was 0-4+ down. When I came within 1 goal, my players got downgraded to Bronze until my opponent scores again to extend his lead.
In another game I was ahead 3-2. My opponent scores to tie the game. I score what should be the winner and he scores from kick off. I did everything to stop him, foul, pull players up, team press. My players just stood around and did nothing as he passed/dribbled through. He did the same thing when I scored in extra time to make it 5-4. I ended up losing 5-6 when my Havertz was 1v1 against the GK. I shot with Finesse+ and he shot it straight at the keeper for an easy catch.
I ended the weekend with a "respectable" 6W/9L, but it feels like I should have gone 8W/7L.
I only bought this game because of the World Cup hype. I won't be here in FC 27 or possibly in ANY future EA game.

Let's not forget - EA make this game for one purpose, and one purpose alone. Not quality, not fairnes and not to please their customers - They don't need to do so because of their monopoly of the game. Their only intention is to make as mutch money as they can to please their shareholders, and now their saudi arabian owners. Their succes is greate, because they are able to force their customers to belive that they have to spend more money to compite well in the game.

Everything you mentioning I've been experiencing, from key inputs not registering to shots going straight at the keeper, it is down right frustrating.
Last season I went all the way to DIV 4 after starting mid season, and start the new DIV 8, now I'm being matched up against a few pro's and the odd pc hacker where my team feels like a bunch of bronze players. My win rate has gone from 50%+ to probably 20-30% as the every game feels deliberately manipulated from game to game.
I'm under assumption but I do not think everybody wants to become a pro, we are here to have fun and compete casually, but EA creates false hope by getting users to purchase packs and making them think this will possibly give you the edge against competitors.
