FC 26’s Current Gameplay Issues

As a competitive player who has dedicated countless hours to FC 26, I feel it is necessary to address the current state of the game. This statement is not driven by frustration after a single loss, but by consistent issues that have affected competitive gameplay over an extended period.

The most significant problem is gameplay delay. Basic actions such as passing, player switching, tackling, and shooting frequently suffer from noticeable input delay, making matches feel inconsistent and unpredictable. In a competitive environment, where every decision is made within fractions of a second, responsiveness is not a luxury—it is a fundamental requirement.

Passing consistency has also deteriorated. Simple passes often fail to reach the intended teammate despite correct input, while routine build-up play has become unreliable. Players should be rewarded for making the right decisions, not punished by mechanics that fail to execute basic commands accurately.

Defending has become equally concerning. Successful tackles regularly result in the ball immediately returning to the opponent, defensive positioning feels inconsistent, and interceptions that should be straightforward are often ignored. These situations create the impression that correct defensive decisions are not being rewarded as they should be.

What makes these issues especially concerning is their consistency. They are no longer isolated incidents but recurring problems experienced across numerous competitive matches. When gameplay responsiveness, passing accuracy, and defensive reliability are compromised, the integrity of competition is inevitably affected.

The competitive community invests thousands of hours into this game. We dedicate our time to Champions, Division Rivals, Squad Building Challenges, and every major event because we genuinely care about the competitive experience. In return, we ask for stable servers, consistent gameplay, and mechanics that accurately reflect player input.

Competitive matches should be decided by skill, decision-making, and execution—not by delay, inconsistent gameplay, or unreliable mechanics.

We respectfully urge the development team to prioritize these issues and restore the level of competitive integrity that the community expects and deserves.

  • Here's the thing, they put the same core game out every year all they do is write code over the top of it. All this Legacy code gets jammed up and causes delays and all kinds of conflicts. They should just go to a pay per year model where they come out with a whole new game every three or four years but they just improve on the model each year in between and update rosters. People would pay for that you would be able to have a more consistent play base. Instead nothing's ever Ea's fault when it comes to any sort of delay or problem with the ui. They also come out and say they fix stuff and they don't, we fixed the ball always bouncing back to the offense on a tackle. Not fixed. We fixed the goalkeeper animation so that they're not so stupid and let balls in easily. Not fixed. There's a marker that is supposed to indicate the next defensive player you push and there's a Time slider for the timing of that, no matter the timing and how I place the slider, half the time I don't get the player that I want that is indicated by that next player indicator. Not fixed. Give yourself a consistent base and improve on that. We'd pay for it. Instead they will come off and say, well your ISP is an optimized for gaming. Well maybe that's true but I have 15 other online games I play with little to no lag input. Well our games more complicated than everybody else. I don't think so. So, to your point yeah stop making excuses and fix your multi-billion dollar game.
