How do you do that first touch when you’re inside the box?

How do you do that first touch everyone talks about “into space” when you’re inside the box?

I use alternate controls and I sprint by holding RB, so I’m a bit confused about the right inputs.

I haven’t played in a while, but I remember watching tutorials about this kind of first touch that worked really well inside the penalty area, where you push the ball into space straight away to create room against the defender.

I just can’t remember the exact buttons now:
1) what are the most effective first touches,
and
2) which one is the most commonly used?
