Recent updates have made the game worse

If the goal was to cull the player count, well done.

The recent updates have made the game so much worse. The devs have not improved the ai as claimed... they have just buffed the ai with more speed, acceleration, the ability to pass 180 degrees behind them, the ability to tackle through human players... that's just basically letting the ai cheat. All while when you have the lead suddenly your own players move out of the way of ai passing or randomly get out of the way of their passing lines.

The world class ai is a shambles, and the game feels like it is regressing to FC 25 levels of terrible gameplay.

I get EA is greedy and it wants to prevent players getting coins by playing against the ai in Ultimate Team, but this is just lazy and cheap.

Totally agree I was enjoying this years game and once again they ruin it with an update they’re scum.

You might not notice it against the CPU AI in offline but I can assure you the changes they have made are certainly noticed online. Smarter AI runs by wingers, strikers etc... is definitely noticeable.

IMO the game is much better after all the updates. My view is based from Online play in Online Seasons. Much better balanced gameplay.

  • Yeah, I play offline against the AI... and it seems pretty clear they are making the experience as poor as possible to try and steer players to the UT mode.

  • It's just part of the cycle. They've made things worse in preparation for TOTY. When that comes out, they'll revert some of the nerfs and then everyone will talk about how good the gameplay is. It does the marketing for them. Remember, they aren't interested in making a fun game. They're interested in making money.

I won't touch UT. I only recommend Seasons mode for the online experience. That's my opinion of course.

  • Everyone should be able to enjoy the game modes they want to play, and not be directed into the direction which EA wants people to play so they can use their manipulative gambling mechanics on them.

I've said it before, either the devs are the most incompetent people you are likely to come across or they have made the gameplay (Kick off vs the AI) absolutely horrible to play on purpose. My guess its the second, as it happens year after year

The devs are saying they actively are taking feedback and working on the game, but I cannot imagine any sane person giving them feedback to make the gameplay as it is now. Personally based on what I see, I don't see artists trying to create something special, or even create something moderately good. That is the sad part when you are willing to compromise artistic integrity to focus on making a bad experience to drive people to buy packs.

I doubt the devs care about football. At least, it's not obvious with what they create. More effort goes into season passes/new UT cards than the actual gameplay. From what I can see around UT, it's all designed to annoy you into purchasing more packs. The match making is designed to get you to win and lose an expected amount to keep you engaged, and therefore more likely to buy packs.

Literally, the best thing anyone can do for this game is stop buying UT packs. They only care about money. That will never happen of course, there are too many brain dead apes playing this game who spend all of their pocket money on packs with worse probabilities than the **bleep** lottery.
