It's a really good, detailed post. However, EA FC 26 (and previous versions) are games based on football but a lot of 'artistic licence' has been taken with what is for me, the greatest sport in the world. Just a few examples of where EA FC 26 differs from real football:
- you can run / pass the ball back to your goalkeeper and he/she will sometimes pick it up and no foul will ever be awarded
- you can encroach within 10yards at corners and free-kicks; time your sprint well and your player will be within five yards as the ball is kicked
- hand-balls are only used in Squad Battles (and if you have them on, it will become a penalty-fest as any contact whatsoever with the hand/arm is deemed a penalty)
- in-direct free-kicks do not exist

Oh, I've never seen that one before! Definitely sounds like a bug.
I haven't yet played FC26 online, so I can only take your information at face-value. But it sounds like there are new things in 26 to get frustrated over.
