Controller not working on online play with laggy gameplay

All my attempts for the one day tournament got ruined by the controller not responding at the even . The controller is not responding to changes in resolution , changes in to fps or changes from fullscreen to windowed . Nothing seems to work . Anyone found a solution to this yet ??? I have no idea why i preordered if this was continuing .
