EA’s CS and Pack Practices Are a Masterclass in Consumer Disrespect

I’m writing this not just out of frustration, but out of sheer disbelief at how consistently EA manages to fumble even the most basic expectations of customer service and product integrity.

I recently purchased three “Deck the Halls” promo packs after the release of Team 2. Naturally, I expected to receive Team 2 players. Instead, I received Team 1 content, despite the clear implication that Team 2 was live. This isn’t a minor oversight. It’s a bait-and-switch. I paid for something and received something else. That’s not just bad business; it borders on consumer fraud.

What’s worse is the absolute black hole that is EA’s customer support. I’ve now spent over an hour trying to speak to a live agent, only to be redirected in circles to forums and automated responses that offer no resolution. It’s as if the system is designed to exhaust players into silence. If you’re going to take people’s money and not deliver what was advertised, at least have the decency to own it. Don’t hide behind broken support channels and vague policies.

This isn’t an isolated incident. It’s part of a long-standing pattern of behavior from EA. Whether it’s quietly patching glitches that actually benefit players (like improved pack odds), turning a blind eye to rampant hacking, or pushing out content that’s clearly not ready for release, the message is always the same: profit over people.

EA has built a business model that thrives on opacity, manipulation, and a complete disregard for its player base. The games are no longer about fun or fairness, they’re about monetization at every turn. And when something goes wrong, the burden is placed squarely on the consumer to navigate a labyrinth of unhelpful resources and automated replies.

At this point, it’s hard not to feel like we’re being taken advantage of. Not just through overpriced microtransactions, but through a total lack of accountability. EA doesn’t just ignore its community, it actively undermines it.

I’m not asking for miracles. I’m asking for what any customer deserves: transparency, responsiveness, and the product I paid for. Until EA can deliver on those basic principles, it doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt or the loyalty of its players. I’m gone.
