Orange player indicator - cant play with controller

I have a ps5 pro controller connected to my pc, which i have been using to play the game all week. this morning, I was able to use my controller to navigate menus, however when I found a game I cannot control any player, and all players showed an orange indicator. I tried restarting ea app and the game and the issue still persists.
