Sudden ping improvement (20ms) for a few hours, then back to 55ms

Hello,

I'm trying to understand whether this is related to EA routing, ISP routing, or the selected data center.

Location: Antalya, Turkey

ISP: Turksat Kablonet Fiber

Platform: PC

On July 17, I experienced something very unusual.

Without changing anything on my PC, modem, or network, my latency changed dramatically during the same day.

06:05 - 07:40 -> 50-57 ms

11:32 - 12:15 -> 19-21 ms

16:50 - 17:33 -> 50-57 ms again

The following day every match was back to 50-60 ms.

EA Connection Quality Report confirms these values.

Additional information:

• Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) latency is around 17-18 ms.

• Google (8.8.8.8) latency is around 25-27 ms.

• No packet loss.

• Low jitter.

• Public IPv4 (not CGNAT).

I've also seen other Turkish players still getting 2-15 ms, while others (including some in Istanbul and Antalya) are still getting 30-60 ms.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Could this be related to routing, edge servers, or data center selection?

I've attached screenshots from the EA Connection Quality Report showing the exact timestamps and latency changes.

Thank you.

  • I'm experiencing the same problem with my Türksat Kablonet provider, and this issue stems from their poor routing system. Even though their data center is in Istanbul, the data first goes to Europe and then back to Istanbul, which creates high ping.
