Japanese Pack Mistake – May Lead to Legal Action
Hello,
I would like to report an issue with the Ultimate "Booster" Player Pack in the Japanese version of the game.
The Japanese description originally stated the following:
レート84以上のレアゴールド選手アイテム50名 (選手5名は必ずレート84以上) と、5試合分のアルティメットスクリームキャンペーンまたはヒーロー(ウィーク1)選手ピックレンタル (5名から1名を選択)1個が含まれます。アイテムはすべてトレード不可。
This translates to:
Contains 50 Rare Gold Player Items rated 84+, including 5 guaranteed 84+ players, and 1 Ultimate Scream Campaign or Hero (Week 1) Player Pick [Rental] for 5 matches (choose 1 from 5). All items are untradeable.
However, the English version of the pack stated:
Contains 50 Rare Gold Player Items including 5 players guaranteed to be 84+, and 1 Ultimate Scream Campaign or Hero (Week 1) Player Pick [Rental] for 5 matches (choose 1 from 5). All items are untradeable.
After the packs were released, EA changed the Japanese description to match the English one meaning the translation was corrected after the packs became available.
The issue is that many of us opened the pack before the correction was made, while the Japanese text still promised "50 Rare Gold Player Items rated 84+." Naturally, we expected all 50 players to be 84 or higher, as stated in the original description.
Since we made the purchase and opened the packs based on the information that was displayed at the time, we believe EA is legally and ethically obligated to honor the original description that was shown to us before the change.
We opened the pack **under the original advertised terms**. Changing the description **after purchase** does not retroactively alter what was promised at the point of sale.
I have attached a screenshot of the original Japanese pack description as evidence.
Thank you for your time and understanding. I hope this can be escalated and resolved fairly for players affected by this issue.
