Messi/CR7 sbc. got a freeze and ended up with the card I didn’t intend on

This is honestly unacceptable for an SBC of this scale.

During completion of the Messi / CR7 Player Pick SBC, the game froze / visually bugged at the selection screen, meaning I could not see which player I was choosing. The SBC then completed and awarded a player I did not intentionally select.

This is not a “regret” or “misclick” situation — this is a loss of player choice due to a UI failure.

This SBC is:

• the most expensive SBC released this year
• requires significant time, fodder, and commitment
• offers two very different cards with different positional flexibility

Yet there is:

• no confirmation screen
• no ability to cancel during a freeze
• no protection if the UI fails
• and apparently no support resolution even when reported immediately

I contacted EA Support twice. I was told SBCs are “hard to undo”, even when the issue is caused by the game itself. That’s not a valid answer when the core mechanic (player choice) is removed by a technical fault.

If the system cannot reliably display a player pick, then the SBC design itself is flawed.

At minimum, this needs:

• acknowledgement as a technical issue, not user error
• tracking to see if others experienced the same freeze
• fair compensation or correction, not a blanket “nothing can be done”

Players are being asked to invest more than ever into Ultimate Team, yet there is zero safety net when the game fails. That’s not acceptable in 2026.

This isn’t about gaining value — it’s about receiving the choice that was earned.
