Silver Tournament is broken

What's going on with the Silver Tournament? I had 5 games in a row that disconnected within a minute of kickoff.

The gameplay isn't much better. I get that silver cards are going to have worse ball control, worse passing, and worse tackling, but this should be applied equally to both players.

It's like all my players have "Worst Touch+" because it takes them 2-3 touches to control the ball. Meanwhile all my opponent's players have Anticipate+ and Intercept+. The ball magically stops at their feet every time.

The passing is terrible and always delayed. Then they catch up to a through ball, their first touch knocks the ball sideways. My opponent doesn't seem to have these issues.

My opponent's ST runs directly at my CB in the box. I hold R1 to press him and my CB backs off and lets him have a free shot. Isn't my player supposed to pressure the ball carrier when I press R1?

How can I get my players to control the ball better?
