FC 27 Career mode transfers

Is anyone else finding the AI transfer market in Career Mode extremely unrealistic?

One of my biggest frustrations is how AI clubs value and negotiate for players. I’m seeing clubs make offers of €2–5 million for players who have scored 20+ goals in a season, despite those players having significantly higher market values and being important members of their teams.

For example, I have a striker, Duro, whose market value is €11.4 million. Atlético Madrid approached me with an offer of €9 million. I countered with €21 million, which I felt was reasonable given his performances and importance to my squad. They immediately rejected it.

I understand that clubs negotiate and that not every player should attract huge offers. However, there needs to be a better relationship between a player’s performances, age, potential, contract situation and actual market value. A player having an outstanding season should influence what other clubs are willing to pay.

There is also a lack of believable player interaction when rejecting offers. I can repeatedly reject bids from clubs interested in signing a player, and there seems to be very little consequence beyond a potential morale decrease. I’d like to see players become frustrated, request transfers, approach the manager about wanting to leave, or clubs return with improved offers.

Some improvements I’d like to see:

  • AI clubs making offers that reflect a player’s performances, market value and importance to their current team.
  • More realistic opening bids and counteroffer negotiations.
  • Clubs recognising exceptional seasons and being willing to pay a premium.
  • More meaningful player reactions when transfer offers are repeatedly rejected.
  • More dynamic negotiations, with clubs returning with improved bids rather than simply walking away after one counteroffer.

The transfer market is a massive part of Career Mode storytelling. I want situations where a big club is genuinely pursuing one of my best players, negotiations become difficult, and I might actually have to make a tough decision about selling someone.

At the moment, the transfer market often feels like it lacks logic and personality. It’s difficult to create believable transfer drama when the offers don’t reflect what’s happening on the pitch.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Has EA acknowledged or addressed these issues?
