Swaps Feedback: Phantom Playgrounds Requirements Are Too Tedious & Long

Issue Overview:

The Phantom Playgrounds objective set—part of the new Swaps system for earning Ultimate Scream Tokens—features requirements that are so brutally tedious, it feels like EA took the Halloween theme a bit too literally. Is it because these are Scream Swaps that we have to literally terrify and torture the player base with these objectives?

The group consists of 7 grueling sub-objectives that demand an absurd amount of time and hyper-specific squad restrictions:

  • Spirit Harvest: Score 50 goals with min. 1 Ultimate Scream player in starting XI.
  • The Red Countess: Score a Chip Shot in 5 separate matches with min. 1 Hungarian player.
  • Lost Your Head?: Score 10 headers with min. 1 USA player.
  • Grýla's Cauldron: Win 13 matches with min. 1 Iceland player.
  • Nessie's Deep Gift: Assist via Through Ball in 15 separate matches with min. 1 Scottish player.
  • Tricks and Treats: Score from outside the box in 10 separate matches with 4* WF players.
  • Gulyabani's Wrath: Play 7 matches with min. 1 Türkiye player.

Why This Objective Design Hurts the Player Experience:

  • Unplayable Frankenstein Squads: Trying to combine these random nationality requirements into a single starting XI yields a squad with zero chemistry and absolute zero competitive viability.
  • Forcing Boring Offline Grinds or Endless Losses: Players are forced to either endure hours of mind-numbing Squad Battles matches or take these unplayable teams online and suffer endless defeats.
  • Severe Player Burnout: Turning token collection into an exhausting full-time job causes massive burnout, forcing players to neglect core competitive modes like Division Rivals and Champions just to finish these chores.

Recommended Adjustments:

Please respect players' time in future promos by lowering match requirements and broadening squad parameters so we can earn Swaps tokens while naturally playing with our main teams.

  • Frankly with the current state of gameplay i dont want to play.

I dont mind being made to use other players for a bit if the game is enjoyable to play BUT this game is so boring to play and repetitive I dont want to play this piece of...

The play 50 games in a cup is a hilarious option it is so out of touch but then again if EA think this is a good game I can believe they think that's a good objective. Clueless

  • It's the constant random nationality and league requirements that do my head in.

Do you remember the old voiceover at the start of UT about "build YOUR ultimate team"? So I build my ultimate team but am then forced to use other players I don't want to just to complete objectives.

Just let us do it organically with our chosen players.
