ADHD TikTok arcade

Dear EA, I bought your game today, and after years of staying silent, I need to say that you have turned a football simulator into an unplayable ADHD TikTok arcade where the gameplay feels like a YouTube video on 2.0x speed. While last year had similar issues before updates slightly slowed it down, FC 27 has completely lost touch with reality, clearly pandering to a Gen Alpha audience just to boost retention and rush through matches. I have bought almost every game since 2008, but after this absolute madness that makes online play impossible, I want a refund and want the developers to know they have officially killed the series and alienated their loyal fans.

I too think this is the year where EA have stuck the middle (you know what) to the loyal fan base. This game is nothing of the one David Rutter and his team was starting to offer. (That had issues too) But this is far, far worse.

I imagine the whole development team are graduates with very little football knowledge and are turning this in to full arcade.

I hate Ultimate Team, However Konamis eFootball is looking more attractive to me because at least it promotes football simulation. Still no fan of card packs but I am starting to think that option is probably better than sticking around here.

Football manager will fix the rest of the itch.

So yeah, EA are driving people away from this joke of a game. Hey let's look at X and view every meta formation and witness fidget spinning non stop goals all with beautiful low driven bottom corner shots that go in. All because Goalkeeper animations are tripe.

This used to be promoted as football simulation. It's now just a buggy glitch arcade joke of a game. Even bugs like Substitutes and reserve players in Online Seasons not saving when switched is an absolute joke.

    Thank God!

I thought I was the only one whose eyes were bleeding from this pace and complete lack of realism. I just don't understand how the gameplay could sink this low. And yet, people are actually buying and playing this.

I honestly don't get how anyone can find any pleasure in this kind of game pace.

blue166 Honest feedback is always the best feedback. It tells those who need to change things what and why. Since you mentioned it, what are the main areas in Konami's eFootball that you find more attractive? Feedback is all about the details. What does one have or do that the other does not that would make it more attractive or less attractive?

We see a lot of feedback that always has comments about fixing it, it needs to change, or this or that isn't right. So, in your opinion what is it that needs to change in order for it to be more appealing?

spacemiracles I ask you the same questions. Realism in a video game is defined as follows: it is not a single switch, but a multi-layered design concept spanning visuals, physics, rules, and narrative. Rather than mimicking the real world 1:1, it relies on making a virtual experience feel plausible, consistent, and emotionally resonant to the player

For you, which aspects are not based on realism, and what, in your opinion, needs to change? How does it need to change?

List to start with. 1) Balance men and women agility, ball control, speed etc to more realistic. 2) Give us option to search match against only full mens team.  3) Fix 95 d-line depht. 4) Fix various bugs example black screen bug. 5) Fix ultimate team pack weight. Still waiting for first promo pull and this should be fun video game right?!

Many thanks for the reply. Here are some points from me.

First of all I am 100% an Online Seasons player who prefers stock teams, attributes, kits, stadiums etc... It's all about the most realism as possible for me.

However, as you see I did infact bring Konami's eFootball into the conversation and that it is currently downloaded on my Xbox Series X and I am strongly considering the move and yes it means getting involved with cards... 🫤

Anyway back to my core mode first and that is Seasons.

Gamespeed - The one thing I'd imagine that 95% of Seasons players are looking for is a simulation of football. Gamespeed here is an important one. Of course not slow and stuck in mud but that of a real football tempo. Infact, where you the player dictates the match tempo. This is an area where eFootball still delivers very well. The gamespeed and match tempo is neat and tidy. Mostly everything feels fair from chances created, goal line scrambles, defending, attacking runs into the box by the AI look intelligent. It just seems to have the excitement of a football match. Crosses into the box mean something and headers are a real method of scoring. The community try different methods to score in every match I watch.

In FC27 it feels like a repetitive game against one dimensional opponents who chose the same style of play all game long and keep jamming it until it pays off. A lot of the blame has to sit with EA for making scoring from crosses almost redundant so everyone try to fidget spinning 100 times on the edge of the box just to worm a way in for the usual low driven shot. It's horrible to watch and it's a horrible thing to face. It really isn't football.

eFootball again is all about build up play and breaking the opponent down. Sure, you can play long ball, quick counter etc... but all really do have pros and cons. FC seems to reward the brain dead approach of repeating the same cringe all game long knowing the opponent will slip up at some stage. FIFA used to have a little more variation with build up play, crosses, set pieces all viable ways to score. It doesn't feel like that anymore. It's the same goals (low driven shots) no crosses. Barely any set piece goals from free kick crosses. Corners are so so. Most are now taken short anyway as again crossing is meh.

Watching eFootball tells me that the player base there are not all spamming the same stuff all game. Sure, some try the blitz curler from edge of box but barely any go in. Most goals in the games I watch are a mix of outside of box, well played runs into the box with square cut back goals, crosses, long ball into runs. Goalkeepers seem better equipped to deal with low shots and near post saves. It just looks so much more football simulation based and it's reeling me in.

I feel at a crossroads with this game now and scorelines of 5-4 constantly just feel ridiculous (What happened to winning a game tight 1-0 or 2-0 - Defend for your life football approach). And my WLD record is good. Though, I don't enjoy even winning. It feels an absolute chore and I can't wait to log off 2-3 games in. I am done.

eFootball I can sit for hours and watch. The player base seems far more football intelligent and seem more respectable. To be fair it was the same when it was branded as PES years ago and I used to play. The player base are just so much more respectable and mature. FC has just become a game of rinse the same fidget goals over and over. Inertia seems to mean nothing now. Small players are way too nimble. The balance is just off in so many ways.

Ultimate team I hate to watch on Twitch for example. It's resembles nothing like football. It looks full arcade and the inclusion of females totally destroyed the game mode. The fact that I'm sure 99% of players are male and probably 90% of them don't even watch these women play ever. The fact you have made women the go too in attack over the likes of Mbappe, Kane, Raphinia, Lamine Yammal, Bellingham, Gordan, Cole Palmer etc... Just makes zero sense.

I will stop here for now and let you digest this. This is also being said by the likes of AA9SKILLS, NICKRTFM, INCEPTION and many others says it all.

EA seems to be catering to the wrong crowed and leaving football simulation out in the cold.

Can I also chuck in again that also ignoring fixing simple things like being able to change substitutes and reserves around and actually be able to save just kills the immersion too.

    Thanks.

blue166 Honestly, it is great to read. Sometimes you get annoyed, angry, and need to vent, or simply need to get more out of what you see.

I appreciate you taking the time to explain it. You've made some good distinctions here, especially between simply slowing the game down and having a natural match tempo where different styles of football are effective. Bringing up crossing, headers, set pieces, defending, player inertia, and the repetition of certain attacking patterns helps clarify what you're looking for in Online Seasons. Those are the important parts.

This stands out too, though: having a good win-loss record but not enjoying the matches themselves. Regardless of what mode, its a competitive game. Either online, with your friends, or just your own journey. That says quite a bit about your experience beyond simply winning or losing. I also appreciate the comparison with eFootball and your reminder about saving substitutes and reserves. You've given a detailed explanation of what you feel is missing from the experience and why those differences matter to you.

These are the types of conversations that get more eyes on them because they are more than just one-liner responses, and they give quite a lot of detail about not just what you need changed but why. Why does it bother you? Well, it bothers me because I do not feel it is immersive enough for me to keep playing.... Something like this says a lot, and it opens up more questions about what can be changed in the future.

He wants a refund and I want mine too. I've reported bugs and asked for compensation and/or a refund multiple times and I was never acknowledged. We, the consumers are ignored until the issue draws enough eyes and you're forced to respond.
