Feature Request: Make EA FC Player & Manager Career Mode More Immersive

1. Realistic Player Contracts

Contracts should have a fixed duration (2–5 years). As the contract nears its end:

  • Clubs should offer contract renewals based on the player's performance.
  • Renewal offers could include:
    • Higher wages
    • Longer contract length
    • Guaranteed squad role (Star Player, Crucial Player, etc.)
    • Captaincy or vice-captaincy
    • The player's preferred squad number (if available)
    • Performance and loyalty bonuses

If the player refuses to renew, other clubs should begin approaching them before the contract expires, just like in real football.

2. Squad Numbers Should Be Earned

Legendary squad numbers shouldn't simply be available to every new signing.

For example:

  • Young players shouldn't immediately receive numbers like 7, 9, or 10.

  • They should begin with a less iconic number.

  • After proving themselves, the club could offer one of these prestigious numbers.

  • Receiving the number could even be presented with a short cutscene.

This would make wearing an iconic shirt feel like an achievement rather than just a menu selection.

3. Interactive Social Media

The current social media system feels passive.

Instead, players should be able to interact with it by:

  • Choosing from several post-match images generated by the game.
  • Selecting captions for those images.
  • Celebrating important wins.
  • Responding to criticism.
  • Congratulating teammates.
  • Posting after winning trophies.
  • Posting after signing for a new club.

For rivalries, players could choose captions that are:

  • Respectful
  • Confident
  • Humorous
  • Slightly provocative

These choices could influence fan reactions, rivalries, media attention, and the player's personality.

The same system could also be used in Manager Career Mode.

4. Choose a Football Idol

At the beginning of Player Career, the player should choose an idol such as:

  • Cristiano Ronaldo
  • Lionel Messi
  • Neymar
  • Luka Modrić
  • Kevin De Bruyne
  • Other football legends

The chosen idol could influence the career through unique interactions such as:

  • Praising the player in interviews.
  • Sending congratulatory messages after major achievements.
  • Presenting individual awards.
  • Sharing social media posts about the player.
  • Inviting the player to charity matches or special events.

This would make the journey feel much more personal.

5. Proper Youth & B-Team Progression

If a player starts in a club's academy or B team (such as Barcelona Atlètic, Real Madrid Castilla, etc.), they should have to earn promotion to the senior squad.

Promotion should depend on:

  • Match ratings
  • Goals and assists
  • Training performances
  • Manager confidence
  • Team injuries and squad needs

A promotion cutscene where the manager announces the player's first-team call-up would make reaching the senior team feel like a major milestone.

6. Meaningful Rivalries

Rivalries should develop naturally over time.

Examples:

  • Competitive matches against another player.
  • Social media exchanges.
  • Award races.
  • Transfer competition.
  • Previous on-field incidents.

These rivalries should affect:

  • Commentary
  • Crowd reactions
  • Press conferences
  • Social media
  • Player morale

Why These Features Matter

These additions would make every career unique. Instead of simply playing matches, players would experience:

  • Earning iconic shirt numbers.
  • Negotiating contracts.
  • Deciding whether to stay loyal or leave.
  • Building rivalries.
  • Interacting with fans.
  • Receiving recognition from football legends.
  • Working through the youth ranks into the first team.

Career Mode would feel like a true football journey rather than just a sequence of matches.
