Silver Promos

I’ve played several FIFAs over the years, and at some point, constantly using the same overpowered cards that everyone else uses starts to feel repetitive. Because of that, I usually set myself some restrictions when building my team, such as only using players from a smaller league (in EA FC 25, for example, I only used players from the Liga Portugal).

This year, I’d love to take it a step further and use only Silver players. That way, every Evolution could feel like a meaningful upgrade to the team, while still keeping the players below 75 OVR so they remain Silvers.

When Evolutions were introduced, Silver IFs were removed from the game, and I honestly think that was a step backwards. Evolutions are a great addition, but I don’t think they should have come at the expense of Silver IFs. Having both systems would give Silver squads much more variety and give players more ways to improve their teams.

My suggestion would be to add more Silver player promos, or add players with a maximum 74 OVR to existing promos. I didn’t get the chance to play last year, but I believe some Silver promos were already introduced, such as Silver Icons and Silver TOTS. Those were great additions, but it would be perfect to see Silver IFs make a return like they used to.

This wouldn’t only benefit players doing challenges like mine. I think a lot of players enjoy having a secondary team built around Silver players, and offering more options would lead to more varied squads and make Silver tournaments less repetitive.

Using objectively weaker players reminds me of the older FIFAs, and I think it creates a less steep progression curve that is ultimately more enjoyable.

It also wouldn’t hurt to have some Silver Moments with a PlayStyle+ every now and then, since PlayStyle+ is extremely uncommon among these players.
