High Ping and Incorrect Server Routing for Players in the Republic of Moldova
Subject: FC 27 – High Ping and Incorrect Server Routing for Players in the Republic of Moldova
Dear EA SPORTS FC Team,
I am writing to report a serious connection issue affecting players in the Republic of Moldova in EA SPORTS FC 27, particularly in online modes such as Ultimate Team Rivals.
Despite having a stable fiber-optic internet connection, I regularly experience high ping of around 40–50 ms during online matches. The problem appears to be related to the game connecting players from Moldova to distant EA servers instead of selecting a closer server with better latency.
For example, when connecting through a VPN to Poland, my ping can drop to approximately 22 ms, which demonstrates that a significantly better connection is possible. This suggests that server selection or network routing for players in Moldova may not be optimal.
The high ping and additional input delay negatively affect gameplay, including player switching, responsiveness, passing, tackling, and shooting. In a competitive game like FC 27, even a small delay can have a major impact on match results.
My request is that EA SPORTS investigate the following:
- Why players from the Republic of Moldova are being routed to distant servers when closer server locations may be available.
- Whether matchmaking and server selection can be improved to prioritize the closest server with the lowest latency.
- Whether players in Moldova can be given better access to nearby European servers, such as those in Poland, where a much lower ping may be achievable.
Players should not have to rely on a VPN to obtain a more responsive and competitive online experience.
Please investigate this issue and consider improving server routing and matchmaking for the Republic of Moldova and nearby regions.
Thank you for your attention. I hope this issue will be taken seriously and addressed in a future update.
Best regards,
A concerned EA SPORTS FC 27 player from the Republic of Moldova
