False Coin Distribution Ban: Lost 50k Trading Manually, Never Used Bots
Hello everyone and EA Community Managers,
I am writing this out of sheer frustration regarding an automated Transfer Market ban I received on PC for alleged "Coin Distribution"—an infraction I have never committed.
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED (MY TRADING ACTIVITY):
- On the day of the ban, I noticed Japanese player cards fluctuating in value on the Transfer Market.
- I attempted basic, manual market trading: I manually searched, bid on, bought, and re-listed Japanese players directly through the game interface.
- No bots, no web scripts, no auto-buyers, and no third-party software were ever used. Every single click was done manually.
- I was not even successful at it; I actually ended up losing around 50,000 coins due to market drops and EA tax.
- A few hours later, my entire Transfer Market access was revoked across PC, Web App, and Companion.
THE CLEAR DOUBLE STANDARD WITH AUTOMATED DETECTION:
1. The Transfer Market is currently plagued by automated sniping bots and third-party tools that operate 24/7 without being touched.
2. Meanwhile, a legitimate player engaging in basic, manual in-game trading—who actually ended up losing coins in the process—gets flagged by an algorithm as a coin distributor.
3. How does losing coins on regular card sales equate to transferring or distributing coins? A single human glance at my transaction logs would immediately prove that these were standard player cards bought and sold manually.
ACCOUNT BACKGROUND:
- I am 35 years old and have played EA SPORTS FC / FIFA legitimately for years across multiple platforms without a single Terms of Service violation.
- This account is under my real name, has hundreds of hours logged, and holds the Ultimate Edition of FC 27.
- I have regularly purchased FC Points directly through official stores. I have never bought, sold, or transferred coins in my entire life.
I already have an open dispute with the Terms of Service team (Case #255200429), but as many know, automated replies are far too common.
Can an EA Community Manager please advise on how to get an actual human specialist to review the transaction logs for this case? Has anyone else in the community managed to get a false-positive manual trading ban overturned recently?
Thank you for your time.
Hey sirjesusss,
The Terms of Service team may use templated responses to make sure the information provided is consistent with those in similar situations, but all appeals are reviewed by humans. They don't use automated replies unless it's already reached a point where they've mentioned no further reviews will be performed, but it doesn't sound like that's the case here.
Please keep an eye on your case history page since you already have an appeal, and the ToS team will get back in touch as soon as they're able to complete the investigation, thanks!
