For a month now I have not been able to exchange players for fragments ,of players that I could replace before the update, shows that they are in the squad even though they have not been for a long time

Thank you for your report. Have you already reviewed your Gauntlet mode lineups?
Even if you have cleared players from your active squad, they might still be locked in your Gauntlet lineups. Please check this thread for step-by-step instructions on how to find and clear them from those background squads so you can exchange or sell them!
