Feature Proposal: Local Custom Soundtrack & Media Player Integration
Category: Audio / UX / Cost Optimization
I would like to suggest a feature that could benefit both EA SPORTS FC Mobile and its players: a built-in Local Custom Soundtrack Player.
The Idea
Allow players to select audio files already stored on their device and create a personal soundtrack that can play during FC Mobile menus and optionally during matches.
The files would remain 100% local on the player's device — no upload or cloud storage would be required.
Why This Could Benefit EA
1. Lower Licensing Dependency
Players could use music they already have access to instead of requiring EA to license every type of music players want to hear.
2. Potential Cost Optimization
Reducing dependence on continuously expanding licensed music libraries could potentially lower recurring soundtrack-related costs.
3. Smaller Updates
User-selected music would not need to be included in game updates, potentially reducing the amount of audio content distributed with future patches.
4. Lower Content Maintenance
EA would have less need to manage additional tracks, licensing periods, removals, replacements, and regional music availability for players using their own soundtrack.
5. Better Player Engagement
Personalized music could make menus, squad building, events, and matches feel more personal and increase the time players enjoy spending inside the game.
Simple Implementation
Settings → Audio → Custom Soundtrack
Players could:
- Select local audio files
- Create playlists
- Enable Shuffle / Repeat
- Control Music Volume separately
- Choose Menus / Matches / Both
- Return to the official FC Mobile soundtrack at any time
Optional Pilot
EA could initially test the feature with menu music only and measure adoption, performance, and player feedback before expanding it to matches.
Why I Think It's Worth Considering
This isn't intended to replace the official FC Mobile soundtrack.
It's an additional option that could potentially give EA:
More player freedom + less licensing dependency + potentially smaller updates + lower content maintenance + stronger personalization.
I believe this could be a relatively lightweight feature with meaningful long-term value for both EA and the FC Mobile community.
I'd love to hear the FC Mobile team's thoughts on whether something like this could be considered for a future update.
