First of all, I appreciate that the recent hotfixes successfully resolved the issue where goalkeepers were completely freezing on the line. However, after playing numerous competitive Head-to-Head matches today, there is a massive flaw in the goalkeeper gameplay mechanics that makes defending feel incredibly unrewarding. I want to break down two specific issues regarding their physics and animation logic.The first major problem is the sluggish recovery time. When a high-tier goalkeeper dives to block a powerful shot, the animation required for him to get back up on his feet takes way too long. In real football, world-class keepers have the agility to recover instantly for a double-save. In this build of the game, once the keeper hits the ground, he stays down for a couple of seconds. This artificial delay gives the opponent attackers more than enough time to easily tap in a rebound while the keeper is completely vulnerable.The second issue is their terrible ball handling and punching logic. Even when dealing with weak, slow-paced shots that should be easily caught and secured, goalkeepers prefer to awkwardly punch or parry the ball away. To make things worse, the AI almost always deflects the ball straight into the path of the oncoming striker instead of pushing it out for a corner kick. It feels like the keeper handling stats on paper do not translate into the actual match gameplay.
While the recent hotfixes definitely made an improvement and goalkeepers are actually diving now, there are still some major gameplay issues that need to be addressed in H2H matches.
My main concern right now is that my goalkeeper is still failing to make very basic saves from straightforward, low power shots.
Additionally, the AI positioning is quite inconsistent the goalkeeper often rushes out completely on his own during counter attacks, even when I don't trigger the GK Rush command, leaving the net wide open.What frustrates me the most is how their performance drops significantly during the final moments of the match around the 45th and 90th minute.
They can play well initially, but late-game blunders are costing too many matches.
