Community ManagerManager mode is unrealistic. Defense unrealistic. Don't waste your money getting defenders, literally. If you dont pay, regardless the players you have, better, higher rank etc. Amazing players will just start passing to the opponent, opponents passes will go through defenders legs regularly regardless of how high their defensive skills are. You will be called offsides regularly to fit ea script. Gameplay does not look realistic. Just garbage really, you must pay!!!
I see the same thing. Because it’s a pure simulation, Manager Mode, more than anywhere else, allows you to see what the underlying coding/game mechanics look like and it’s just not a particularly realistic version of the sport. There’s really no point in making a laundry list of the myriad ways the simulation diverges from real football (defenders failing to make any effort to close down shooters, or balls flying in from 35 yards are both examples that come to mind). But suffice it to say, the mode lays bear the fundamental flaws in the game’s “AI.” And that’s completely setting aside the fact that the tactical controls don’t appear to do ANYTHING. I have an OVR 115 squad and recently went 10 matches with only 1 win. I tweaked my tactics this way and that and it had no perceptible influence on how my team performed or on the outcome of the matches (even when my opponent was far weaker).
I’ve honestly just thrown up my hands. I’ll spam matches now (letting them run while I do household chores) solely so I can grind out enough wins to claim decent weekly prizes, but I’m done wasting my time trying to actively “manage” my team. It’s pointless.
