Yup, couldn’t agree more.
That this question is being asked while repeated calls to fix the game engine go unacknowledged (let alone fixed) says everything you need to know about EA and its relationship with its customers. Does EA honestly think that we’ll forget how crappy the gameplay is if they just roll out the perfect event???
I could waste my time listing my indictments of this event (the best players residing behind a $100 paywall tops the list!), but why bother? What’s the point in making suggestions on where the deck chairs should be placed when the “Titanic” is sinking?
EA, if you want to create value for your customers then make the matchplay FUN! Like the man said — fix the game engine! I would pay for this game if it guaranteed consistently fun (and not infuriating) play. Every player card would hold more value if the game mechanics actually worked. Conversely, no amount of gimmicky event design is going to make people overlook a broken game engine.
Not broken, rather borderline manipulative and toxic.
