Watched the video. It leans a little bit into conspiracy theory territory, but I do agree with one thing — EA is definitely he’ll bent on monetizing our attention span and driving us toward the Store to part us from our money. It’s definitely not about producing a stellar video game (like in the old days). It’s now about providing just enough of a dopamine hit to keep players hooked, but not a drop more. It’s a race to the bottom from a gamer perspective and it’s absolute torture as a football fan to see them wring the life out of a sport we love.
It doesn't seem like a conspiracy theory. We are in the age of the “attention economy.” Obviously, a company like EA is going to exploit that to the fullest. And you are absolutely right in what you said.
