No I don't believe that is the case about boosters. Whereas badges might help, I've not seen any "boosters" that do that. Also, I do believe that player pool is part of the problem here as generally when you reach FC Champion and if you do it early, you are lumped in with much higher OVR players who get there much easier than you might.
