Manager mode is straight up terrible.

I've played 94 games since reaching 10 stars and currently I'm sitting at 17 stars with 33 wins 26 losses and 35 draws. Was at 24 stars and lost 7 in a row and ever since then it's been a win-loss cycle. Only EA can come up with something outright terrible like this. Who even designs these? One match my team is winning 3-0 and the next match a 5-1 or 4-0 defeat. No matter what tactics you use, they just play however they want. Can you believe playing 94 games for friggin 7 stars. Dunno when that DDA is gonna hit me and put me back to where I started. Ridiculous game. If I ever find anyone from EA, I'm gonna lock them up in a room and make them play this piece of garbage 24*7 for atleast a month time. I'm seriously glad the company is sold. And I really hope this trash comes to an end atleast this year. Goddamn

Yup. I do the same exact thing. No point in wasting time and energy actually thinking you can “manage” the outcome (because you can’t).
The one thing MM is good for is helping to explain why H2H mode can be so infuriating because it (MM) plainly demonstrates how totally flawed the AI/logic is for all the players you are not controlling (i.e., the ten players running around like so many chickens with their heads cut off).

At least in vsa i see that once i hit 5 stars i will never be matched with a lower ovr even though there are many such in FC alrdy. And i end up losing by 3 4 goal difference to same ovr thanks to the smartypants chance algo . in MM the freq of players making wrong passes or off target shots goes up after 5 stars

1440666fd7e443ec have you checked that have haven’t accidentally has one of your lower OVR sides active before you hit auto … I did that last month when we needed to score with certain players etc, and it took me a couple of 5 loss autos to realise

Nope. Using the right lineup. It just goes to show how random the outcomes are. I was as high as +10 FC champions (for all of a second!) before dropping as low as +1 again. My team and tactics remained the same throughout.
I’ll occasionally watch a few minutes of the action or attempt to manage the final 15-20 minutes of a match and it’s the same old story — defenders fail to close down shots, attackers pass up easy shots or, instead, shoot from 35-40 yds out; and no change to tactical settings makes a difference. I lose to teams with far lower ratings and beat teams with higher ratings. But mostly it appears that every match is just a coin toss and, therefore, streaks of 6 or 7 losses out of 10 crop up randomly. The whole thing really is just an abomination. 😒😔

I think you hit the nail on the head with the coin toss analogy - the mode seems to have been designed to see if there was an interest in manager mode style play, which then led to the development of FC Tactical.

i think they have kept MM as Tactical is not available in all countries yet and it is an easy way for people to get some bonus content and extra minutes in the game.

it is terribly random though, and I don’t think a whole heap more development is going to go into it, so probably best not to overanalyse and just pick up your freebies while doing something else

I would genuinely go as far to say that this is probably the worst mode I have ever played on any game in my entire life.
