LWB, RWB and CF were discontinued approx 2 years ago, if I remember correctly. And at the time, the rules set were that only the default position does not get an OVR penalty, alternative one does:
RB in RWB: No OVR loss. Your RB keeps its full OVR when played at RWB.
LB in LWB: No OVR loss. Your LB keeps its full OVR when played at LWB.
RB in LWB (or LB in RWB): This is still considered out of position, so you'll get an OVR penalty.
CAM or ST in CF: No OVR loss
Historical nuances specific to some other versatile players have worked in the same manner historically.
Some good examples are: Zambrotta 117 RB (LB alt) in LWB has OVR loss, Puyol CB (RB alt) used as RWB has OVR loss.
Try putting Gullit CM in the CF position, the same thing across the whole lot of his CM cards, OVR loss.
