Do I need the same player twice to rank up?? Don’t get it…

@Konterman can they be ranked up with a zanetti or grealish not pioneer?
I tried to with Son - and just wasted 100k coins. It wouldn’t let me…
- @Fasst1 Pioneers can’t be ranked up - we are yet to see whether event cards and base cards of the same player can be used to rank each other
among all the stupid things EA gets to do and think of, this one is probably on top 10!!! All the effort to get pioneer players that we cannot sell nor rank up. Considering almost all puoneer came from exchanges and packs, so a game of chance, it’s just a total rip-off
- @erdacoca the pioneers are to help you get started - in every pas season they have not been long lasting
- @mendozzamagic that’s a dull answer mate. And not true, I used Bale Now and later as RM for a couple of months since he was so good in that position despite being RW. So don’t neccessarily agree. In any case, it’s a stupid dumb system. With or without pioneers.
- @erdacoca ok - each to their own ... i expect that my couple of 90s will last me a while too, but i don't play the market or spend much on the game, so i guess its all a matter of different perspectives
This is dum why couldn’t they just keep the same system from last year now it’s complicated and I can’t rank up anybody
Open question then -
Is it better to stick with high ovr players (like a 90 rated pioneer) and not bother ranking them up, or buy multiple lower rated cards (an 85 ovr striker for example) and rank them up?
- @CameroonDiaz Its up to you. Seems like 85+ cards are in demand and their price is rising so fast. We will all have to rank up at some point. My opinion is best to wait a bit to see if EA will change anytheing before wasting millions on 85 player. And you need 2 copies of the same player to get to rank 2. To get to rank 5 total is 20 for 100% success rate.
So if an 85 costs 1,5m you need 30m to get him to rank 5. - @Sanyosa Thanks. That does seem quite a lot, I certainly don't have that kind of coin right now!
