If possible, test it on a different device and make sure to log in with the correct account that you used to link your FC mobile.

The issue arises here,
On another device, the game couldn't remember me and I ended up creating a new account linked to Play Games with the same gmail. I currently don't have access to the old device but will have access probably by tomorrow.
Is there any chances of recovery as my old account was basically overlapped by the new one?

Unfortunately, I’m not able to restore your account. The best way to check its status is to log in again on your device and see if your profile loads normally.
Please make sure you fully log out first, then sign back in using the exact same login details you originally used to link your account.
