Screwed by the faulty servers

I was playing at a renderz h2h tournament. Every loss or draw there is crucial. I start the match and while the matchmaking was succesful, the match itself never started for me and the loading screen got stuck. So my chances at winning something from the tournament ended right then and there because my opponent is playing against AI which is 99% a guaranteed win.

How can a multi-billion dollar company have a game that is terribly optimized when it comes to server consistency? Even when my network is fine and currently using the 2.4G version to download large datafiles and stream a football match at the same time.
