Shame (World Championship finals)

Dear EA,

I wanted to talk about the World Championship that took place this weekend in Asia. It was one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen. This isn't sport. I watched it, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Even worse than the attitude of the champion, Totonaka—who simply decided to pass the ball back and forth until the match ended—was seeing the event organizers allow this kind of thing. It was a total disgrace. There was no match; there was only cowardice. I know this happened in other games, too.

This only happens because EA is permissive and does absolutely nothing to ban this type of behavior. You should encourage fair play among athletes and create mechanisms to protect it—measures that prevent unscrupulous players from winning through cowardly strategies. That final was an absolute disgrace, as was the champion's attitude and the permissive stance of EA—a company that seems to show, day by day, that it doesn't truly care about football or about clean, honest sport.

I’m sorry, but the World Championship just proves my point. I’m not making this up. I sincerely hope this changes—that the game becomes fairer in the near future and that measures are taken to curb the actions of unscrupulous players. It is simply revolting to see what happened in that final. Totonaka is a disgrace, a coward, and you fuel and condone this behavior when you hand the championship trophy to a coward like that.
