If the account was never linked, then you'll need the User ID of the old account before the game got wiped. Do you have that? Or do you only have the UID of his new account?

If you have the User ID I'd reach out to our live support team so they can take a look at how they can help to recover the account. They can't use usernames to recover accounts, unfortunately, only the User ID.
