Why am I being matched up with a team that’s 20 ranks and +3 OVR higher than me (I’m a 120 and he was a 123)? This isn’t fair and it isn’t fun. If you can’t match me with an opponent who’s closer to my equal then I will gladly wait 30-60 seconds for one that is. But it’s a waste of my gaming time (and it unfairly hurts my ranking) to be matched with someone who is (by EA’s own measure!) literally “out of my league.”
Just experienced a similar matchup issue in H2H mode. I’m 120 OVR and FC Champions +30 and I was matched with someone who was 123 OVR and FCC +50. That’s just not a fair matchup, and I don’t see why the matching algorithm has to prioritize the speed with which I’m paired with an opponent over the fairness of the match. Fairness should always come first!
And my next two H2H matches were the reverse (I had a +20/+30 advantage over my opponent). Predictably, I won both matches. Why are these unfair matchups being made? Are there so few users that EA sees no choice? That doesn’t seem to be the case, because the match-making happens almost immediately 95% of the time. So, why aren’t the parameters tighter (e.g., limiting matching to opponents separate by no more than +/-10?
If I was a cynical person (oh wait, I am!) I'd say they've had to expand out the matching parameters to account for the drop in users
The thought had occurred to me. Still, if I’m ranked 90,000th, you’d think there would be a match to be had with someone closer in the rankings. But, alas, today I had 4 or out of H2H matchups where my opponent is +20 above me. 😒
Still happening. 😡This is freaking ridiculous. More than 40 ranks separate me from my opponent! How is this fair??? I’d really like to hear EA provide an explanation for why they’re making this matchup because it makes ZERO sense to me.
