Yes, it's been whacked for over a month now.
Basically, you can't sprint. I find that sprinting makes the AI defence way more aggressive, and you have to pass the ball around a lot as they press hard. Drag the AI to the wing, then play it across on the deck. If you go aerial, you just lose the ball. Usually, your CAM will be in the right spot to shoot as he gets near the half-circle outside the penalty box. In most cases, that gives you a goal. Then just hold the ball by passing it around.
I use either 4-1-2-1-2 and overlap with lb/rb or play with the 4-2-3-1 (3xCAM), it helps control the middle, sometimes a false 9 is also good. Don’t use attacking mode either. It makes the game harder. Most of the time I win within a game or two using this method, but I agree with you — this challenge has been nothing but a nightmare for 5 shards.
Yup. Just started a separate thread on the lame Anniversary prizes and pointed to this event as the absolute worst of it. You spend an inordinate amount of time to win three matches — the last of which is ridiculously tilted against you — all so you can take home a 5-shard piece of crap. (I mean, is expecting a minimum 10-shard card asking too much? Apparently!)
Concur with the strategy suggestions though. That’s pretty much exactly the approach that finally worked for me. Just gotta be patient.
