What do you think of the design of Retro Stars?

What do you guys thinks of the design of Retro Stars? I think the graphics are really cool and spot on in terms of theme. On a UI/UX level, however, it’s a total mess. It’s completely unclear which elements are clickable, when they are clickable and where they will lead you. There is a very cool retro “Press start” CTA (very prominent as well) but there is no actual start button in sight. Another case of great idea, poor execution, if you ask me… When will they ever learn?

    How do you unlock lvl 2?

    I completed the 2 skill + 3 pve matches & opened retro pack (ignored h2h & exchange)?

    @pelicanos It unlocks at weekly reset (Thursday morning for me) … it’s a dopey design, should be replayable for a small amount of event currency
  • Retro stars might look good in terms of graphic design. But the lack of daily play makes it a non-event. You complete Level 1 in no time and that’s it for the week until level 2 unlocks. Just plain stupid, should have had some daily feature to keep interest.

    @mendozzamagic agreed. I guess that's how it was back in the day, not smart like we are now;o) I can see someone even raised a bug.  Plus the daily token makes it look like a daily event.

    @pelicanos Yeah - it fooled me to start with 🫣

    I am just playing Div Rivals (as much as I dislike it) to gain universal tokens and change them for event currency … it’s a novel idea, not sure it will get me enjoying h2h, but at least I get tokens where I win or lose 😉

    @andyjeaks nothing to play for?, I don’t think it’s a bug, it’s a feature. There is/was probably a sizeable portion of the player base that was complaining about the game taking too much time. EA (or Nexon) complied and gave us a game with (almost) nothing to do and where it is unnecessary to play matches to get most rewards.

    As for Retro Stars, who still remembers the season 3, FM 19, design? It had dungeons with daily runs and daily super hard games (0-4, 60th minute, if I remember right). Those were the days, oh the nostalgia.
