Team appearance changes in different events!

I have my team and its appearance set well as I want. For instance, my Bergkamp wears number 23 on his shirt with a tight fit. I play David Beckham event and my Bergkamp has loose shirt and number 2 on his jersey. And that goes for most of the players, since some of them have numbers that I've set on cuz it is their default number. Which means that for different events there is different Locker room settings. My question is is it just an appearance issue or different event recognize me as different team (my aim is that sometime my team is worsen when I play on world class difficulty). I would like this to be clear.
