“In order to access the online features…” Madden 24

Trying to find out why I’m getting the following errors while trying to play the free trial of Madden 24:

”ATTENTION: In order to access the online features for this title your account on PlayStation Network must be signed in and you must be signed in to the EA servers.”

”UNABLE TO VERIFY ACCOUNT: You must be connected to the EA servers in order to play the Madden NFL 24 Trial. We will now attempt to reconnect to the EA Servers.”

It was working fine until yesterday. I have tried all of the obvious things, including restarting the game, console, switching internet connections, restarting internet entirely.

Looking for help thanks!

  • Hey All,

With the error that says you must be connected online, that is typically a sync issue with the EA account and the game itself. See if the following helps.

Log into profile.ea.com and under connections make sure your Gamertag is connected. Sometimes we go a while without realizing it is the wrong EA account

Once you verify that, reset the password to the EA account Here

Once the password is reset, you can try to log back in but I would do a full reboot of the console first.

@Mascottte85 @SalariYT If you log into profile.ea.com, make sure the EA email is the one you use and under connections, you see the Gamertag that you use is the same one connected to that EA account.

Once you verify those, turn off the console, unplug it for about a minute and once plugged back in, try to connect again. If you have Xbox live on that Gamertag, or PS Plus if on PS, you should not get that error.

That error basically indicates there is a disconnection from your EA account to the console account to the EA servers. It isn't not recognizing you have an online sub to access the servers. Just have to find where that disconnect is.

    Hello @EA_Shepard ,

I’m experiencing the same exact error. Madden 23 works fine. This error started happening after the Madden 24 server maintenance on Saturday 9/16.

Tried all the troubleshooting steps provided above, and completed multiple methods provided through two EA support calls and on my own.

    Please advise, thank you!

  • Keeps asking for login verification but won’t send code to my email. Same thing with the online page. You’re not blocked or snything

Why should we have to login to the EA servers to play OFFLINE?

    Hey there!

It's been a minute since this was opened and discussed. We will wrap this thread up and lock it down as resolved.

    Troubleshooting steps:

With the error that says you must be connected online, that is typically a sync issue with the EA account and the game itself. See if the following helps.

Log into profile.ea.com and under connections make sure your Gamertag is connected. Sometimes we go a while without realizing it is the wrong EA account

Once you verify that, reset the password for the EA account here

Once the password is reset, you can try to log back in but I would do a full reboot of the console first.

If you have any issues with the account or errors still, please reach out to support so that they can take a look at the account with you.

    Thanks, and happy gaming!

    Cheers!
