Forced to retire superstar mode

I demanded a release from the team that drafted me and signed with the bears and when I went to sim to the regular season it's forcing me to retire even though I signed and I'm level 50 99 overall and I'm not retiring to lose all of my progress so is there a way to roll back to before I left my original team or if j retire can I delete this character and make a new corner but keep all of my skill points and gear for showdown?
