How to play online against friends on XBox One???

Whats Going On Folks! I am NOT new to madden, but I am new to these forums. I have Madden 24 on XBox one I have an active XBox Live account I have an active EA Sports Account I cannot play again...

@FunkyCold007 EA Connect/Crossplay is only available on current gen consoles/pc, but quickplay against friends on xbox one should be possible.

So, does this mean I can only play against friends on XBox One only? Theres no option to search/invite a new friend at all.
