Insane Lag on PS5

I'm on PS5 and have a 1GB connection. Nothing else is on in my home but when I play against other PS5 opponents - I can't make any inputs on the controller. When I cross play - everything is fine until I get a lead and then the lag hits. The lag is horrific.
