Madden 24 Input Delay

I play on the Xbox Series X and have great internet speeds. However, when I am on the road, especially when playing the game mode in MUT "H2H competitive play a friend," I notice extreme lag. Is there anything I can do to stop lagging? This did not happen in any of the previous maddens for me. Will the input delay be fixed, or is this how it will be all year?

  • I get it on PS5 with good internet and only in this game playing online h2h.

    Last madden was fine along with other multiplayer games.

    Sometimes it’s playable but mostly unplayable.

    mods here say no server issues but ea help say known server issues.

    Neither of them can decide who’s telling the truth though.

    @lakculv well i hope they fix it even though they probably won't. I noticed it most when I'm on the road. And yea I agree some games the lag is really bad where it becomes almost impossible to make adjustments or even have a good user.

    Would it be possible to get more information on this?

    • Are you getting an error message?
    • Which modes does this happen in?
    • Does this happen when loading into a specific more or performing an action in a mode?
    • Does this happen to any other account on the device?
    • How long are you playing until this happens?
    • Are you playing from the device's internal storage or an external drive?
    • What type of network are you using? (Wired, Wireless, Hotspot)
    • Is anything else happening?
    • Please share any steps you've tried to far to resolve the issue:
    • If possible, share a Screenshot or Clip...
    • If on PC, please share a DxDiag and an EA app Error ID

    We can use this information, to help make the team aware of the issue and to further investigate.

    Happen on any other account: I only play on one account

    • How long are you playing until this happens? When I play on road in "Head to Head Competitive Play a Friend"
    • Are you playing from the device's internal storage or an external drive? external
    • What type of network are you using? (Wired, Wireless, Hotspot) Wired
    • Please share any steps you've tried to far to resolve the issue: I tried changing my dns settings and monitor settings. Nothing worked.
    • I played in the pro tournament and finished #68 on ladders. However, nearly all my losses came on the road because when I'm not playing on my own host there is crazy input delay. Never seen any madden do this. They said they patched input delay in the beta. They did not. Please fix.

    Hi @Gamer4389 

    Can we try the following and check if anything changes?

    • Quit the game and other running apps from Quick Resume (For Series X|S consoles)
    • Remove any connected device, or additional USB's from the console then restart the Xbox and check
    • Check for updates 
    • Try the steps in our Connection and Advance Connection Guides 
    • Open you're Xbox NAT Type
    • Change DNS settings (You can use the public google DNS primary: 8.8.8.8, secondary: 8.8.4.4, unless there is a different DNS you would rather use)  
    • Persistent Storage 
      • Go to settings > Select Device & Connections > Then Blue-Ray 
      • Select Persistent Storage > Clear Persistent Storage 
    • Alternate Mac: 
      • Go to settings > Select General  > Then Network settings 
      • Go to advanced settings > Alternate Mac address > Select clear 
      • Select restart

    This has been going on the whole year starting from the beta. It is not a problem on my end. I've tried everything. I'm here hoping EA sees this post and finally acknowledges there are problems with servers. I live in California and it is crazy over here. I don't have lag in any other game outside of this one.

    Hi,

    I’ve tried all the fixes from ea help and more like static IP and port forwarding, upgrading to faster internet speed, lowering TV and PS5 resolutions.Disabled Bluetooth and connected controller via usb.

    EA help advised its a known issue that they are trying to resolve.That was weeks ago.

    I highly doubt that as it’s been this way since release.

    No way they’d  take this long to fix a MUT issue or micro transaction issue.


    I’ve asked for info to traceroute the game server but EA help kept ignoring the request,

    maybe someone from EA in here can help with that?

    100% it’s an EA issue and it’s pretty pathetic that online is still unplayable this far into release.

    I buy the game to play in multiplayer online league, not offline so I haven’t got what I payed for. 

    Years of EA dishing up this crap is unacceptable, fix your F-ing servers.

    Hi @Gamer4389, Can you try switching to the internal storage, and testing another account on the device to check if this continues?
